BEHIND THE CHAIR
Working hard for something we love is called passion. Passion is one great force that unleashes creativity, because if you're passionate about something, then you're more willing to take risks.

Emily Poindexter
Owner & Master Curl Specialist
"I have had interest in doing hair all through high school and I was who my friends came to for "at home" cuts. After my daughter was born, I knew I wanted something that made me happy and would provide. I finally took a leap of faith and changed career paths, which was the best thing I could have done. I started at a well known salon and day spa, which allowed me to quickly expand my knowledge in the field. I then found my love for the curly world, as I could relate myself. I formed such a deep passion for the impact I was making in so many lives. I expanded my curly knowledge and decided to become a Deva Curl Coach, which allows me to travel and teach my passion to other professionals in the field. With the support of my family, friends and clients, I was able to open Embellish Hair Studio. I have loved this journey and wouldn't change a thing. I have the most amazing team of talented stylists and have plans to expand in the future! My goal is to motivate, inspire and empower the community through this amazing opportunity that I was given. Let's make today beautiful!"

Hair Artist & Color Specialist
"My passion for hair started with a curling iron and my grandfather's puffy, snow white hair. I would spend hours repeating the same curls all over his head until I felt they were perfect. And so it blossomed into who I am today: completely obsessed with this amazing career of mine. Although I enjoy all aspects of hair, color has captured my heart. It allows me to use the most creativity and truly be myself. My favorite thing about my career has been the opportunity to meet so many different personality types and my ability to make their lives a little more unique. my daily goal is to make each client feel comfortable while building a relationship of trust. At the end of the day, I thank God for my sweet life filled with puppy kisses from my cocker spaniel, Radlee and complete, loving support from family. Now let's make you feel beautiful! As always, do what you love."

"When I first graduated from high school, I had no idea what I really wanted to do. First, I started classes at the local community collage nursing program because I love caring for people. After a couple of semesters, I felt like I still wasn't where I was suppose to be. I then decided on working towards a business degree, but there was still this underlying passion inside. I started selling Mary Kay and fell in love with making people feel beautiful and more confident. It didn't take long to realize that the beauty industry was made for me! I took a leap of faith and enrolled in cosmetology school which lead me to a career path that I truly love and enjoy everyday. I have 2 fur babies and two beautiful baby girls. Come on in and let me work my hair magic!"

"I have been in the field of hair for over 10 years. I am extremely excited to join Embellish. Working as a hairstylist is not just a job, but a way to help define personality and improve self-love. I started my career in Franklin County, VA, and traveled to Silverdale, Washington, then San Diego, California, then back to Virginia. While living in San Diego, I was able to use my profession to help those less fortunate in finding employment by offering free haircuts at a local church every Saturday morning. This helped me understand the importance of my work, and how something as simple as a haircut could change a person's life. Three years ago, I decided to try a different career path to see if I was missing something since hair was all I had known. Now, I am back doing what I love and thrilled to see what the future holds. I cannot wait to meet you!"
